A St. Louis County man was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident and property damage. According to Town & Country police, George Putney was traveling westbound on Clayton Road near Woods Hill Road when his car crossed the double yellow center line and crashed into a car driven by Dr. Ciby Herzfeld Kimbrough of north St. Louis County. Dr. Kimbrough died from the personal injuries she sustained in this car accident. The wrongful death of Dr. Kimbrough is tragic.
Police are investigating what happened in this accident and whether or not this was a drunk driving accident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Town & Country Police Department.
According to reports, Dr. Kimbrough was a remarkable woman and very active in the Civil Rights Movement. She even had the chance to march with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is sad when someone's life ends unexpectedly due to the negligence of others. Drunk drivers need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
