On June 25, 2013, a young woman was killed in a tragic rear-end collision. The accident took place at 10:30 P.M. on Interstate 49, just south of Route J in Peculiar, Missouri. The victim, Seja Patel, was only 18 years old. She had been one of six passengers in a vehicle that was struck from behind, including an 8-year-old girl and a 31-year-old man who were also seriously injured in the crash. When the driver of the second vehicle, Steven Horack, collided with the back of their car, both vehicles went barreling off of the road. While everyone who was involved was able to walk away from this devastating accident—albeit seriously injured—Seja Patel was unfortunately not so lucky.
