A Dexter, Missouri man died today when his car collided with a freight train in southeastern Missouri in Stoddard County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the man was driving across railroad tracks when his car was hit by a Union Pacific locomotive and overturned. According to reports, the railroad track is marked by only a sign.
Is it negligent that the railroad did not have gates with arms that come down to protect against situations such as this?
Did the locomotive sound its horn?
Was the driver comparatively at fault?
